Privacy Policy: Dope Player

1. Introduction

Dope Player is built on the principle of Maximum Performance, Zero Surveillance. This Privacy Policy explains our “No-Data” approach. We do not create user profiles, we do not track your media tastes, and we do not sell your habits to advertisers.

2. Data Minimization (What we DO NOT Collect)

In compliance with the Indian DPDP Act (2023/2026) and GDPR Art. 5, Dope Player follows strict data minimization.

• No Media Logging: We do not track the titles, file paths, or metadata of the videos/audio you play.
• No Identity Linking: Dope Player does not require an account, email, or phone number.
• No Tracking Pixels: We have stripped all third-party tracking SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Tracking, no Meta Pixels).
• No Biometric/Gaze Data: We do not use your camera or sensors to monitor your engagement with content.

3. Local-Only Processing

Dope Player operates almost entirely on your local hardware.

• Playlists & History: Your “Recently Played” and custom playlists are stored in an encrypted local database on your device.
• Thumbnail Generation: Video previews are generated locally. We never upload your images to a cloud for processing.
• Hardware Acceleration: We utilize your device’s GPU/SOC locally to provide smooth 4K/8K playback.

4. Limited Technical Interactions (Transparency)

The only times Dope Player connects to the internet are:

1. Codec & Library Updates: To support new video formats (like AV1 or H.266), the app may download secure library updates from Digifluence servers.
2. Subtitle Fetching (User-Initiated): If you manually request subtitles, the app pings external APIs. Only the file “hash” (a digital fingerprint of the video) is sent; no personal info is attached.
3. Crash Reporting (Strictly Opt-In): If the app crashes, you are asked for permission to send a technical log. This log contains zero personal information or media titles.

5. 100% Ad-Free Architecture

Dope Player does not contain an “Ad-ID” or “IDFA” (Identifier for Advertisers).

• We do not display banners, interstitials, or video ads.
• We do not participate in “Real-Time Bidding” (RTB) auctions.

6. Global Rights & Compliance

• For Indian Users: You have the “Right to Erasure.” Since we hold no data on our servers, you exercise this right by clearing the app cache or uninstalling the app.
• For EU Users (GDPR): Digifluence acts as a Data Controller only for the software’s functional integrity. There is no processing of “Personal Data” as defined by Art. 4.
• For California Users (CCPA): Dope Player honors the “Do Not Track” (DNT) and “Global Privacy Control” (GPC) signals.

7. Security

All local app data is protected by your operating system’s sandbox environment. We recommend using device-level encryption (FileVault/BitLocker/Android Encryption) to further protect your local media library.
